Spring - Summer 2019
Spring - Summer 2019

Over the past several collections, Lako Bukia has strayed from her signature focus on prints. That’s not a bad thing. Her knits are a great reflection of the Georgian tradition of knitwear. A candy cane cardigan made of red and pale pink stripes came long, coolly fastened at the waist with a gold chain. It would have been nice to see more variations of this.

As for those prints? They made a pretty splash in a pattern reminiscent of dripping water colors. One striped shirt and trouser set came striped in pinks, blues, and greens. While that look seemed overly grown up, an incarnation as a polo and a pair of loose shorts will surely attract a younger customer base.

For her S/S 2019 collection, LAKO BUKIA has taken her main inspiration from Colors. She got inspired as she walked in a store and saw Acrylic material. Lako Started experimenting with colors and started to take photos. Continuing with her inspiration, she started finding color gradation in different things, like walls of old buildings. For more soft and feminine looks she focused on knitwear, formed in vivid colors. As the highlight of the collection, we come across the signature prints of LAKO BUKIA. All the print fabrics have been created from her photos that she took of various Walls in different parts of Georgia. The collection is filled with Femininity, softness of the fabrics, bright colors  and the spirit of  the past.
